Baguio City may be a familiar place for some of Filipinos but this time around while in pandemic, it is different.
I have been to Baguio multiple times as part of my travel going to Sagada. But with my family, it has been 10 years since we visited the Summer Capital of the Philippines.
Before, we were just four when we visited Baguio during Panagbenga Festival on 2012. Now, the place may be familiar but with new attractions in the same cool atmosphere. And this time, we have additional members to come with us for my birthday celebration and Christmas.
We prepared for this vacation for about 3 months. Since this will be the first time that we will have kids with us, my mother is a senior citizen and we are still cautious with Covid-19, preparations were planned ahead of time. And at last, December 2022 came by!
How did we get there?
First, I planned to rent a car from Manila to Baguio but I discovered that there are luxury buses with more spacious seats and much more convenient since a driver is automatically hired, I booked our buses with Victory Liner. Ever since we go to Baguio, Victory Liner is our go-to bus! It was convenient and safe. Plus, since this is a luxury ticket, a small rest room is available, Wi-Fe is free and snacks were served!

Before, the travel time from Manila to Baguio with take about more than 8 hours. Now, with all of the new routes and roads, our travel time was just about 5 hours! It was very comfy and safe also!
Where did we stayed?
I booked a house in Booking.com. Instead of booking a hotel, we opted an entire house where we can cook on our own, do anything on our own. Though the place we rented was a bit far from the city and there was some rough road to drive through, the house itself was perfect for us! There are spacious living and dining rooms. There are 3 bedrooms at the 2nd floor with terraces. There are bathrooms per floor, making it more convenient for my senior citizen mother and my sister with a 1-year old boy.

Though we arrived at this house with no electricity on the first day, it exceeds our expectations for the comfortable and value for money. Plus, our caretaker is very responsive too! They had no issues on accommodating our services even on Christmas season.

How we get around the city?
My sister rented a private vehicle for 3 days to let us see the city and La Trinidad. Our drivers really know the city making our routes faster to drive. Though there were personal items that we left in the car on the first day that were never returned, overall, our experience with our rented cars is still superb! Note that we had 3 different cars in 3 days and all our Innova.

After settling in for a day in our rented house, we planned a 3 day itinerary to visit old and new attractions in Baguio City. Most of the places we visited are child and senior citizen friendly, making our vacation as enjoyable as much as possible. To know these places, read my next blog! ❤
