Another day, another Tokyo

After my travels in Gifu Prefecture, I travelled to Tokyo as my exit point. As this was my third time in Japan, it was also my third time in Tokyo. I did not let another chance to slipped away to travel to one of busiest cities in the world. However, I only had two full days in Tokyo so my itinerary was short and sweet. 🥰

From Magome to Nakatsugawa to Nagoya, I travelled for about four hours to Tokyo via bus and trains. It was a pleasant experience to see the rural views of the prefecture down to the busiest streets of Tokyo. The scenery from the white winter wonderland to the red and orange lights of the city.

Where did I stayed?

I booked my hotel in S-peria Inn Nihombashi Hakozaki. This was my second time in this hotel. I chose this again as it was near the Airport Limousine Station. It is very close also to Suitengumae Station as part of the Hanzomon or Purple Line. I also liked the area as there were convenience stores nearby.

Their rooms are perfect for me as a solo traveler. Most of the budget hotels in Tokyo are small but I guess this was just enough for me and my luggages. I also admired the cleanliness of the hotel and their approachable staff.

How did I get around the city?

To be in Tokyo, the cheapest and most convenient way to travel was via trains and busses. After I arrived from Nagoya, I searched for a ticketing booth to claim for my metro train ticket. I also bought the train ticket via Klook. It was an unlimited ride for 3 days for Php 573.

Just a reminder and also for me, if you will buy this metro train ticket, not all stations has a ticketing booth with QR code scanner. So, please be mindful to check the instructions before purchasing and make sure you checked the correct station where to claim the tickets.

As for me, I returned back and forth as I realized late that the ticketing booth near my train station has no QR code scanner. 😅

Where did I travelled?

Since I only have two full days in Tokyo before I return to Manila, my itinerary was short and simple. But it doesn’t mean that I did not enjoyed my third time in Tokyo.😁

Tokyo Disneyland

Entrance Fee: Php 3,485 via Klook

Whenever I am in Tokyo, I wanted to visit the Disneyland. The first time I visited Tokyo Disneyland was two years ago. Though in my first visit, I did not tried any rides. I just stroll around and just felt that moment to be a kid again. The second time I was in Tokyo, my main purpose was to join the Eras Tour. Thus, I opted to exclude it in my itinerary. But this time, in my third time in Tokyo, I planned to stay my entire day in Disneyland and to try rides as many as possible. ✨✨✨

Last time I took a cab to travel to Disneyland. And oh boy, that was pricey! This time, I tried to ride a train and stopped at Kinshicho Station. Outside the station, there is a direct public bus that took me to Disneyland. It also stop at DisneySea. The bus ride cost ¥1,000 only. After 45 minutes, we arrived in Tokyo Disneyland.

My goal was to try the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. And oh boy! I really enjoyed it! As a big fan of the Pirates and particularly Johnny Depp, it was a delight to experience this attraction. Every settings, props, costumes and even the little splash of water was amazing! The POTC fan in me was very happy! 🖤⚓🏴‍☠️

After the POTC attraction, I ate a quick snack. I tried the Mickey Mouse bun and fries. This is what I love in theme parks, even the food meals were perfect! 😍

Just right in time, I saw people seating in pavements getting ready for Mickey’s Parade. Since I do not want to pass this chance by, I also looked for a spot to sit. As a girl’s scout, I bough a big laundry bag that allow me to sit in a clean way. 😁 I really prepared this time as my first time in Disneyland, I just sit in pavements.

Though you can feel the cold air, it was almost noontime so the sun was scorching in my skin. But this heat was nothing comparing to the moment I was in Disneyland again. 🙏😍🙏 In less than an hour of waiting, I had the chance to see Mickey and Friends!!! 😍😍😍

After the parade, I really enjoyed the Western River Railroad, Tom Sawyer Island and Mark Twain Riverboat. I just like an experience that took me back as a child. My brother and I personally love Tom Sawyer cartoon series. So being there was a delight! 😍😍😍

I was amazed by Tom Sawyer’s Treehouse, Huckleberry’s Pond, the Indian Camp, Injun Joe’s Cave, Harper’s Mill and Fort Sam Clemens. Every settings were perfect! 😍🥰😍 Even the vending machines joined the theme! 😍🥰😍

After the Western River Railroad, Tom Sawyer Island and Mark Twain Riverboat, the Country Bear Theater caught my eye. I di not intended to try this attraction but since my feet aches and I wanted to sit plus the queue was not that long, I entered the theater. The entire cast did not disappointed me! I really loved the bears’ performance! 😍😍😍

My next attraction was the Its a Small World with Groot. I didn’t knew that I will enjoy this attraction. I loveeeeeeeeee the boat ride that really made me feel that it was indeed a small world. I am not sure if they are ceramic puppets but everything was in perfect live mood! I also love the costumes and props. Seeing Groot all over the attraction made it more amazing! 😍😍😍

Since I haven’t had yet a perfect morning picture in front of the castle, I tried to return to the front area and made some shots with the help of other tourists. A Disney Princess in my own! 🤪🥰👑

I headed back to the attractions and queued in Snow White’s Adventures. As a child, I recalled how I love Snow White. I think she was my favorite Disney Princess, I even had a chance to a be a Snow White in one of my company’s Christmas Party as our theme was about Fantasy.

This time around, the attraction in Disneyland, renewed my love for Snow White and Dwarves. I got to ride a miner’s cart and had some fun with the scenes of Snow White together with her evil step mother. The ride setting was dark but totally fun! After the POTC ride, I think this was my second favorite. 😍

My next attraction was Mickey’s PhilharMagic. Almost the same intention with just sitting like in Country Bear Theater, the Mickey’s PhilharMagic did not failed me! Mickey, Donald Duck and friends made the theater lively! It was 3-D show so we were given 3-D shades. But just like other attractions, Mickey’s PhilharMagic did not failed me! It’s not just a 3-D show! You will really experience that you were there in each scenes, like the was a splash of water, the faces of Donald and other characters were just like entering your eyes! It was amazing! 😍😍😍

I would love to try other attractions like Pinocchio’s Daring Journey, Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Hall, Peter Pan’s Flight, Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast and more but my time was running out. It was almost time for the Electrical Parade. 🥰🥰🥰

The parade I watched in noontime was different from the Electrical Parade. It was more lively! I guess the lights really added the fun. 🤩🤩🤩

After the parade, it’s time to leave Disneyland. 😭😭😭 The theme park was preparing to close. It was indeed better to stay at Disneyland Resort Hotel if you wanted to visit Disneyland. But I guess, a day in Disneyland was a blessing that I cannot complain to have. 🙏😍🙏 I was still lucky and blessed to be there! 🙏😍🙏

To return to my hotel, I rode the same bus to Kinshicho Station. Then, from there, I rode the train again. In less than two hours, I arrived in my hotel. It was indeed a day filled with happiness! 😍🥰😍😍🥰😍 I will definitely return! 😍🥰😍😍🥰😍

Tokyo Skytree

Entrance Fee: Php 1,358 via Klook

On my second and last full day in Japan, I opted to try the Tokyo Skytree. It was near my hotel so might as well visit it again. Though it was my third time to see the Skytree, this was my first time to visit it inside the observatory.

The Tokyo Skytree is located in Oshiage, Sumida. The skytree stands 634 meters. It was built in 2008 and completed in 2012. Tokyo Skytree is a television broadcasting tower. It is considered as the tallest structure in Japan.

Before you enter the Tokyo Skytree, you can stroll in the mall or eat meals there. As for me, I strolled while waiting for my schedule to enter Tokyo Skytree. I also had my last lunch in Tokyo. 😭😭😭

After some minutes, I entered the Tokyo Skytree reception area. There was a long but moving queue of tourists inside. Just like my experience in Taipei 101 building, the huge elevator will take you to the observatory. The observatory 450 meters. Almost at the top, you will see how massive is Tokyo. Though the sky was not that clear to see Mt. Fuji, it was a nice view of what is around and below.

Shibuya

Entrance Fee: Free

Right after my visit in Tokyo Skytree, I directly rode the train to Shibuya. My main aims to be in Shibuya were to cross again the busiest intersection in the world, have a glimpse of Hachiko again and of course shopping! 😅🤣

So I finished crossing Shibuya and had a glimpse of Hachiko. It was time to have the biggest itinerary of the day! Souvenir shopping in Don Quijote Mega Store in Shibuya. 🛍️🛍️🛍️

I chose this Don Quijote store as it has the most complete items I wanted to buy and also because its in the same train line of hotel, making it more convenient to travel around. However, after buying too many “pasalubong” and adding a luggage, I never thought that it will be difficult too. 😅🤣

I completed my shopping in Don Quijote after 3 hours. It was almost dark. 😅🤣 I have to complete my packing and laundry too. So time to head back to my hotel! 😭😭😭

Last day (this year) in Tokyo!

It was indeed fun to see Tokyo and some parts of Japan specially in Nagoya, Takayama and Shirakawa-go, Magome and Tsumago. Everything I planned eventually happened. But there were some parts of it that I need to tweak in my itinerary. And I believe, this is the beauty of solo DIY travelling. You can be flexible without letting ask for permission from others. 💜

I will definitely be back to Japan next year as my multiple entry visa is until 2028. But this time, all the memories I collected will be cherished in my mind and heart.

Until we meet again, Japan! Dōmo arigatō! 💜💜💜

Safe travels! 💜
